FlyBackTransformer
Johnny Carson, Hollywood's man. How about some other people who's on-air record puts Carson to shame?...someone like WOR's *Joe Franklin*.
sfpcc1
See the Aristocrats. Joe Franklin is mentoned by Sarah Silverman in a less than flatering light. I've seen Joe Franklin. I guess he's more of a New York area Local thing; kind of like Bill Kennedy was a Detroit local thing.

DownGoesFrazier
Sid Mark has been playing exclusively Frank Sinatra on Philadelphia radio for approximately 57 years (since the mid-'50s).
John2Bad
I've always thought of Joe Franklin as a relatively lovable, eccentric, local TV personality with an obsessive's knowledge of old time show biz. And often Joe was unintentionally funny. I doubt he would have made it as a national talk show host, but he did fine on channel 9 in New York. Sepiatone
WHOA! sfpcc1, someone ELSE has heard of BILL KENNEDY?? He's a large part of the reason I dig "classic" movies. I grew up watching his show, and miss his stuff a LOT! Sepiatone
DownGoesFrazier
The only Bill Kennedy I know of is Bill "Pickles" Kennedy, Temple star hoopster of the '60s.
sfpcc1
Bill Kennedy was a minor Actor in the 40's. I think his best known role was in Ingrid Bergman's *Joan Of Arc* as the man who set her ablaze. Sepiatone, I grew up in Southfield MI so that why I remember his show. That's also why I'm familiar with the CBC, (Channel 9 Windsor.)
heuriger
Bill Kennedy's most famous role was a fellow passenger to Bette Davis in Now,Voyager. Here's another local television icon.

twinkeee
CKLW was a 'Hot' Radio/TV station. The building is on Riverside Drive and overlooks the Detroit River and the Detroit Sklyline. They used to have outdoor Dance Bandstand.
