Thank you, metz.

 

Helen Keller had been on a speaking tour and had gone to see Chaplin

in Hollywood. He had been working with the deaf for some time and even

traveled with a deaf artist who taught him sign language and finger-spelling.

He used this to improve his pantomime skills. There's more to Chaplin than

meets the eye - so to speak.
