"Every Man Dies Alone"

News that Emma Thompson and Ralph Fiennes will be playing the leads in this new film adaptation of Hans Fallada's novel "Jeder stirbt für sich allein."

The novel was a bestseller and was released in the U.S. under the title "Every Man Dies Alone"

(The U.K. title was "Alone in Berlin"):

Anyway, with Emma Thompson and Ralph Fiennes playing the leads, I assume the film will be in English, despite being a German production. Vincent Perez is directing.

 

The only other English-language film of a Fallada novel that I'm aware of is Frank Borzage's 1934

"Little Man, What Now" was the first of Frank Borzage's Weimar Trilogy (the other two are "Three Comrades" and "The Mortal Storm").
