JamesJazGuitar
I had the same idea as you when I saw this thread, but I avoided the temptation since if other follows this will remain a top listed thread. (of course I'm also helping in that regard!).
Dargo2
Well, MY inclination was to type: "...is the loneliest number that you'll ever do." (...though of course, 2 CAN often be as bad as 1, which of course IS the loneliest number since the number 1)
DownGoesFrazier
Terrible song-----the only Three Dog Night song that was any good was "Easy to be Hard".
Dargo2
So, in essence you're sayin' that little guy Jememiah was definitely NOT a good friend of yours then, huh?! (...yeah, well, I never understood a single word he said either, so I know where you're comin' from here, ol' buddy)
JamesJazGuitar
What, you don't like bullflogs? Now that was a terrible song. The song "One" at least has some merit.
Dargo2
>Terrible song-----the only Three Dog Night song that was any good was "Easy to be Hard". Betcha didn't know that that song was written with John Holmes in mind, did ya! (...sorry, couldn't resist) Though btw, I did always like their version of Randy Newman's "Momma Told Me Not To Come". (...hmmmm...I wonder why I thought of that right after mentioning John Holmes here?) (...sorry again)
Dargo2
And now after all THAT "unpleasantness", where were we here??? Oh, yeah... 4 ? (...and which btw is a number you never wanna say that loudly, 'cause of course you'll have every golfer within earshot flinching...unless you're into that sorta thing of course)
EugeniaH
The first thing that popped in my head when I saw the title of this thread was the song from A Chorus Line: "ONE... singular sensation..." And as for Three Dog Night, my favorite song from them is "Black and White" (brings up nostalgic memories). I didn't like the bullfrog song. P.S. WhyaDuck - whya this thread? Dargo2
Ya want MY guess here, Eugenia?! Well, I THINK Whyaduck probably was gonna start yet another thread around here with the title: 1960 and later movies suck! (...and he just hit the enter button WAY too early, that's all!!!) EugeniaH
"One less... bell to answer..." Now I'm going to be thinking of "one" songs all afternoon, and so far most of them coming to my mind suck.
Dargo2
Well, "let's get together and"... see if we can think of one that doesn't suck here.... WAIT! Suddenly somehow I think I've got one here ! How about Bob Marley's "One Love" ???

Dargo2
You're welcome! But NOW I'll betcha you're gonna have a Reggae beat bangin' around inside your head the rest of the day! (...so, ya wanna take back that "thank you" now???!!!) LOL
EugeniaH
Nope, I'd rather have that then, "One less... bell to answer." (By the otherwise terrific The 5th Dimension:)
Dargo2
Aah...The 5th Dimension! Reminds me of my old TWA days and when for a while they used their "Up, Up and Way" megahit as that airlines' theme song in their TV commercials.
EugeniaH
I love that song! And of course the rocking, "Aquarius" (Hey, WhyaDuck, how far off the track from your thread idea are we? )
Dargo2
Btw, "New Theory" here, folks. Whyaduck started this thread this way to see how many tangents this baby of his would take! (...and he's sure glad I found it)
mrroberts
My favorite 3 Dog Night song is "Eli's Coming" , I like those keyboard songs.
heuriger
So, in essence you're sayin' that little guy Jememiah was definitely NOT a good friend of yours then, huh?! I'm shocked that there's gambling.......er... shocked that you thought our little green friend was the namesake of the ol' syrup lady. I'm sure you realize it was Jeremiah, but it still provides an opportunity to needle ya, dear friend. LOL

John2Bad
So I'm guessing that Viagra won't be using Easy to Be Hard as a theme song. I always got a kick out of the X Files episode where Mulder and Scully are out in the woods and have had a little too much to drink and Scully starts singing Joy to the World. To the very Top of the Toppermost.

Hmmmm...so it seems I misspelled the little frog's name with a "m" instead of a "r" there, and thus making it sound a little more like the syrup lady instead, did I heuriger?! (...well,.I guess the ONLY excuse I might have for THAT might be that after the big dust-up the other day around here, I must still have Hattie McDaniel on my mind a little too much lately!!!) willbefree25
*One is the loneliest number that you'll ever do.....* Did you know this, from wikipedia? "One" is a song written by Harry Nilsson and made famous by Three Dog Night whose cover in 1969 reached number 5 on the Billboard chart. The song is known for its opening line "One is the loneliest number that you'll ever do." It appeared initially on Aerial Ballet, Nilsson's third album. Nilsson wrote the song after calling someone and getting a busy signal. He stayed on the line listening to the "beep, beep, beep, beep..." tone, writing the song. The busy signal became the opening notes of the song. I still like his Me and My Arrow the best. How can any *one* not like that song? Yup, anything can get responses here.
