28Silent
Earlier when carousel was being shown,8/28/13, Robert Osborne made a mistake. When he talked about the Frank Sinatra problem in the film ,about the original reason possibly why he left the set. That tow version was going to be shot.Robert Osborne claimed that one was going to be shot in cinema scope and the other version was going to be shot for theaters with no CinemaScope. From the t.v documentary about Roger and Hammerstein musicals, narrated by Shirley Jones, oops i almost typed McClain,She stated that the two versions that were going to be shot was one for CinemaScope 55 and one for regular CinemaScope, which was the possible reason for Sinatra leaving the movie. The same info was stated in Wikipedia, not a version for theaters with no scope.Another interesting thing is that the premiere 55 print had a 6 channel stereo sound track which ran separately .Regular theater had the four channel print version.Of course fox would also offer the mono optical pint version of their films as well as a a mono hi fi track version too.But fox found a way to not have to shoot it twice,by optical reduce print the copy on to 35mm
