Well, the Oxford dictionary defines "eclectic" as follows:

 

adjective

1 deriving ideas, style, or taste from a broad and diverse range of sources

 

What's wrong with that? I've always thought being "eclectic" in one's tastes was a good thing.

 

By the way, this thread should be included in the contest I mentioned on another recent thread complaining about TCM. Whoever creates the 500th thread about TCM's rapid descent into a cesspool of hopeless irresponsibility and immorality wins a subscription to NetFlix ( of course to replace the complainant's movie source) or a night on the town at Musso and Frank's with TCM's programmers, at which they can vent and lament to their heart's delight.

The 'Combos' aren't nearly as good as the singular Cappuccino makers...makes for a better cup. Let the physicists duck out for their Starbucks (they can have it !)

Well, they being physicists, and by definition countercultural, one would hope they would patronize independent coffee shops, and not feed the corporate beast.
