smitty1931
How about a day of her films. Se was an olympic champion ice skater and cute to boot. Her films were fluff but her skating was sensational!
Sepiatone
Her skating would be considered lame by today's standards. But she WAS a cutie, wasn't she? Sepiatone
MelissaW.
She was adorable. TCM showed Second Fiddle not too long ago, which was indeed fluff but utterly charming fluff, pairing her with the beautiful Tyrone Power. And even though she didn't do triple and quadruple jumps, there's a swiftness and an odd, gravity-defying quality to her skating that is hypnotic to watch. Arturo
Well it may be a problem to do a day of Sonja's movies, since almost all were done for 20th Century Fox. Of course, it IS possible, but you might have better luck on the Fox Movie Channel. In the last year or so, they have shown all of her movies she made there, with the possible exception of SECOND FIDDLE. In fact, going over their schedule, twice this month they will have back to back showings of two of her films, ONE IN A MILLION (1936), her debut film there, and WINTERTIME (1942), her penultimate film at Fox. These will be on Sept. 18 and 29.
