Brownhuney
What's the name of the following movie? It was made in the '40's or '50's where all the women were married to executives in one particular firm. The women were the driving forces of their husbands careers. There was one wife who slept with her husband's boss in order to get the promotion, but he didn't get it. It's only played on TCM. Please help..... DougieB
It sounds a lot like "Woman's World" (1954), though I don't know whether it's been on TCM. Fox Movie Channel has shown it. One of the wives (Arlene Dahl) broadly hints to the boss (Clifton Webb) that she'd be available to him, but never actually sleeps with him, it being the 1950's and all. The irony is that her husband is the one who finally gets the job, but only after he's ditched the wife who was "holding him back". June Allyson and Lauren Bacall are also in it as wives. DougieB
Thanks, Fred. You sure picked the pertinent scenes. I used to think I didn't especially care for Arlene Dahl, but the more I see her the more I like her.
Swithin
My favorite Arlene Dahl role: as Carla Goteborg in *Journey to the Center of the Earth,* still one of my favorite films.
