Apologies if this has already been posted elsewhere, but I stumbled upon the article and thought others might appreciate it:

Just goes to show - you never know what's lurking in an old Northeastern barn. :)

Things like this we all wish and hope for - some people might have old 8 or 16mm (maybe a 35mm) film in their attic or collection that's considered lost by film preservationist.

 

The biggest fear is they might passed on and their relatives will toss it to the trash because of snobbishness thinking it belongs there or don't care.

 

Films that are lost due to nitrate fire or neglect might have a 2nd chance from private collectors. One good example is "Beyond the Rocks" (1922), in 2000 a print was found in the Netherlands.

 

Just keep hoping.
