FlyBackTransformer
No Time For Sergeants was on this past saturday afternoon at 3:30 and I recorded most of it on my vcr and then looking at it last nite I noticed they cut out the portion with Don Knotts completely. Anyone else notice that besides me?
DownGoesFrazier
The thing I find unusual about this film is that it is set in the Air Force rather than the Army.

DownGoesFrazier
How? Most service comedies are set in generally the Army and sometimes the Navy.
Sepiatone
Except for ONIONHEAD, which is set in the Coast Guard. And they cut out DON KNOTTS??? THAT'S SACRELIGIOUS! One of the best scenes in the movie! Wasn't this when Griffith and Knotts started their years long friendship? Sepiatone
JamesJazGuitar
I also found it strange that the setting was the Air Force instead of the Army. Doesn't the Air Force have a higher entry standard then the Army? Would those two of been drafted into the Air Force? The Army will take anyone! DownGoesFrazier
Good point. The Air Force Academy is also tougher to get into than Annapolis or West Point.
mrroberts
How about "McHale's Navy Joins The Air Force" ? Explain that one eh? Especially when in WW2 there was NO Air Force, just the Army Air Corp. (Love that song, they even used it in Mister Roberts)
mrroberts
If Don Knotts wasn't in the movie he probably drove the patrol car out of Mayberry and got lost again. No GPS in those days.
