slaytonf
TCM showed Louis Malle's playful romp through South America, vaudeville, love, and revolution late last night. He pays homage, does justice to, and puts to shame a lot of Hollywood's similar efforts, all at once. Not his best, but enjoyable enough to get the blood racing. It's nice to see the bastards get what's coming to them. It's dubbed, though. The absence of Jeanne Moreau and Brigitte Bardot's voices detracts from the film. But we do get them when they sing.
