Bounty Sails Again (1962) tomorrow, Oct 22, at 934 PM edt. keep in mind that she was active through Oct 29, 2012 until she sank as a victim of Hurricane Sandy off the coast of North Carolina. also victims of the turmoil were Captain Robin Walbridge and, ironically, Claudene Christian, who claimed to be a descendant of Bounty mutiny leader Fletcher Christian. MaryLyn2
Thanks - I will set the timer for that short. I am glad you wrote about it because I did not plan on watching any movies on TCM tomorrow night. But would like to see the short about the Bounty Replica. hamradio
Question I've seen asked on the internet, will the H.M.S. Bounty be rebuilt? Guess we will have to wait until someone makes a movie remake/reboot about it but unless some studio or other organisation wants to sink in a lot of money, we may have to settle for a CGI replica. The replica that sunk was beautiful.
FlyBackTransformer
When is TCM gonna finance a salvage operation?
Sepiatone
I think they should just leave it be. Building another replica would somehow seem disrespectful to me. Like it's saying, "Let's forget that old boat and all those people." Sepiatone
MaryLyn2
I did not realize that Ted Turner had once owned the Bounty replica.
hamradio
The Bounty sank because of a hurricane, nothing man actually done. What about plans to rebuild the Titanic that took so many lives due partially to man's folly and is considered a grave site? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2284933/Titanic-II-Australian-tycoon-unveils-plans-replica-doomed-vessel.html

FlyBackTransformer
Still...*whatever.* A tragic end for a great cinema ship. She survived the horn in the dead of winter only to meet her end in Sandy.
