EugeniaH
I caught *The Mummy* on DVD the other night! I love the scene where *(SPOILER ALERT!)* ...the mummy comes to life and the researcher is so shocked that he goes insane, laughing maniacally. lavenderblue19
Genie and Mark, Count me in on that Love that scene in the beginning of the film. One of my favorites is *The Mummy* . I have a tape but I'm staying up and watching it tonight. I LOVE THIS FILM and Boris Karloff is without a doubt one of my all time favorite actors
FredCDobbs
Yow! 4 classic movies in a row!
Swithin
Great scene, it's Bramwell Fletcher who goes mad. I also love the opening of White Zombie -- the burial at a crossroads. Very true to Haitian zombie lore, for which today's zombie films have no respect.
EugeniaH
*(MUMMY SPOILER ALERT)* . . . . . . ...The Mummy walks away, and Fletcher is laughing... You're thinking, "That's a weird reaction!" But then the laughter goes on and on, and then you start feeling really disturbed as you're watching this character... The timing of it was perfect. dirtyape
I watched Bride with my daughter a couple weeks ago, but I did watch the first 20 minutes tonight before football called my name. I have the DVR set to record The Mummy and Cat People for us to watch in the coming weeks. I haven't seen The Mummy in years and avoided reading most of this thread for the spoilers! I've never seen Cat People, so I'm pumped for that one too!
FredCDobbs
Regarding THE MUMMY..... the female star, Zita Johann, made only 8 films. Here is one of her other rare films, and this one has a very unusual style of story-telling. I had to watch this a couple of times before I understood it: *The Sin of Nora Moran* http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a9ZY_G53Xc8
hamradio
I wonder could a horror movie be made based on the Lost Pyramid of Djedefre? In other words a twist to "The Mummy" instead of the ususal remake/reboot. Strange an entire pyramid vanished from the face of the Earth.
Swithin
Zita's best line in The Mummy, spoken to David Manners: "Do you have to open graves to find girls to fall in love with?"
Vertigo2
"Bride of Frankenstein" IMHO is the best of the 30's Universl horror films. So atmospheric, such great casting - the weird doctor could not be weirder - can't think of the actor's name, the cinematography, sets etc Most of all the work of director James Whale. He SO deserved the tribute that " Gods and Monsters" was. I loved that scene in it where a moment from the filming of BOF is recreated.
Geminigirl
Hi, mark! Last night's TCM lineup was great; I can hardly wait for Thursday; especially Vinnie's over-the-top performance in "The Pit and the Pendulum". It is, in a word, priceless.........................
