Halloween

I was just last night watching some reruns of MODERN FAMILY on the NCIS---er, the USA channel. In one episode, Phil and Clare Dunphy were touting their one shared "guilty pleasure", cheezy cinema.

"Not the first one" said Clare, "But the follow-ups. Like number three or four"

Said Phil, "Or by the 5th sequel when all the cast members are changed. THAT'S when the magic happens."

Indeed. HALLOWEEN, FRIDAY THE 13th, NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET and many other would have done well to stop after one. Can anyone here imagine THE HAUNTING IV, or HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL XII? Thought not.

Probably by not wanting to seem tedious, many broadcast channels who usually try to cater to Halloween "scary" movie lovers, parade a troupe of "low rent" slasher-thrillers to fill in the time and pretend to offer a wider variety.
