leobertucelli
wHy haven't you people stopped your incessant posts on G. Brent. It's tiring to read the same inane posts about his rear end. As I always believed, 'it's what's up front that count's! And I see they are still showing early 30's films. Don't they have any other more recent films? faceinthecrowd
Sure, there are more recent films. In 1964 there was ADVANCE TO THE REAR. You're right, though: it's what's up front that counts. This sounds like the start of a promising new thread....
AndyM108
And I see they are still showing early 30's films. Don't they have any other more recent films? Leo, all you ever do is complain about everything. In 1000 posts I can't remember a single time where you went out of your way to find anything good about a network you obviously must watch on a regular basis. Here's a thought: To celebrate your 1000 post milestone, why don't you make up a list of about 1000 movies you'd like to see? If nothing else, it'd take your mind off complaining for a few days. hamradio
I don't see nothing wrong with the thread, many poster are having fun with a unique rear end topic. Better than threads in the past that stirs up controversy. There were a photo thread that got demolished by the update a couple of years back, too bad it couldn't carry on. I believed it was the longest running, posted thread to date.
Sepiatone
I haven't seen a thread about Brent's rear end in quite a while. Welcome back, Rip. Sepiatone
JamesJazGuitar
What I find funny here is that most of the complaints by others are related to the fact that TCM doesn't show enough 30s films and shows too many of those post studio era movies. DownGoesFrazier
I beg to differ. Each post about his rear end has its own unique perspective.
JamesJazGuitar
I think you're bending over backward in defense of that thread!
MorrisSteele
It takes a lot of cheek to dis me, but I don't care, I've got a lot of that myself.
MilesArcher
I'd like to know why he wears a sports bra. We may indeed have a whole new thread topic here.
MorrisSteele
Yep, the pre-bro look. This photo has appeared on the original (accept no substitutes) GB thread a number of times. I guess that type of swimsuit was one of the styles back in the day. Not sure what they were thinking though.
hamradio
There are different size and shapes of rear ends in "Walkabout" (1971 but I doubt if they get as much attention.
EugeniaH
Well, in defense of George, he doesn't get too much coverage in other areas of the board, so even if people think we're silly (and we are!), maybe they'll decide to check out his movies anyway, and keep the guy's name alive. JamesJazGuitar
I wouldn't worry about Brent being forgotten. He made way too many movies with Bette Davis for that to happen.

I don't think ya'll get that past the censors. They have to draw the line somewhere.
faceinthecrowd
You're right. For that sort of thing I recommend Poseidon's Underworld. We can't post there, but the website is pretty funny.
Sepiatone
> You're right, though: it's what's up front that counts Depends if you're talkin' about actors or actresses, and what kind of movies. Sepiatone

Sepiatone
OK. Here's what I know. There's a story that John Wayne had a fake newspaper made up to place on a table where he knew WARD BOND would join him for breakfast. On the front page was a photo of Wayne and another actor( I forget who ), standing on either side of a horse's rear end. The caption read something like, "Actor WARD BOND stands between JOHN WAYNE and(whoever) on the set of..." The whole thing was rigged to make fun of Bond's ample rear end, a constant target of jokes for people on the set of the movie, and a constant joking point with Wayne for all the years of their long friendship. In viewing many movies featuring Bond in the cast, and on many "Wagon Train" reruns, it's clear Ward Bond's butt is the more massive of the two( the second being Brent's). So I never could figure out all the hoopla. Sepiatone

JamesJazGuitar
A western is the most likely place one can get a good view; when they film someone getting on a horse, they often provide a rear view (or is that view of the rear???).
