aline
A day of Ralph Meeker films and no PATHS OF GLORY or KISS ME DEADLY. How disappointing.
faceinthecrowd
Meeker was the best Mike Hammer ever in KMD. I guess the reason the film wasn't included has to fall under the category of The Great Whatsis.
Kid Dabb
Ralph Meeker's Mike Hammer is my favorite as well. Kiss Me Deadly always gets my attention when aired. This story is noir, sci-fi, and horror, all-in-one. The strange, unseen "power" or technique for inflicting pain and damage on his assailants is almost comedic and would be moreso if there were more incidents in the story, and that radioactive package just took things way off the scale (no pun intended). The scenes with Jack Elam crack me up.
Fedya
In honor of yesterday's airing of *Shadow in the Sky*, I think [this video|https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MAK_P65YgnI] is appropriate. (Don't worry, it's safe for work.)

johnpressman
I'm sorry, "Kid" and "Face" but Darren McGavin IS Mike Hammer! As a consolation, have you seen Ralph Meeker in the original "Something Wild"?
Kid Dabb
John - I have seen Something Wild, but it's been at least ten years. All I have are vague memories now. As I recall, it had some interesting music by Aaron Copeland.
deadendkid
Does anyone remember his television program Not for Hire? I read about it recently having never heard of it.
Kid Dabb
I never watched Not for Hire. NCIS must be the rehashed updated FX version.
