This pretty 50's TV Starlet made all the rounds on television, but spent a lot of time on one particular WB series, although she was not really a regular.

She was married to two famous American performers, although she herself was not born in the United States.

You might say she was not a household name, but definitely a household face seen on numerous classic TV series.

When you identify this actress, please name her two famous husbands and her favorite WB series.

Hint#3-- One of her husbands is a rock and roll legend.

Actor had a busy TV career. A co-star in an important 1960's drama, a semi-regular in a popular detective tv show and a co-star at the same time in an iconic tv comedy. Before and in between and after appeared in many tv shows and appeared in a very popular and famous mini-series.

Actor, the 3 tv shows he's known for and that mini-series?????

It sounds like Robert Reed to me.  He starred with E.G.Marshall in "The Defenders", with Marshall playing his father.  While co-starring on "The Brady Bunch", he had a recurring role as a police lieutenant on "Mannix".  He appeared in both "Roots" and "Rich Man, Poor Man" and was nominated for Emmys for both.

Perfect and complete answer Miles :) I remember watching The Defenders, although when it first aired it was a little grown up for me, but  I did stay up to watch when I could. The Defenders was an excellent show starring EG Marshall and Robert Reed. It was an important show at the time, Mad Men did an episode and they showed footage of a scene from an episode of The Defenders. It was about abortion, and that was a controversial episode at the time. While playing Mike Brady on The Brady Bunch , Reed had a recurring role on Mannix. Yes he was nominated for his role on Roots and Rich Man Poor Man. Good work, Merry Christmas to you and your family Miles, you've been missed on the bds. Your thread ;)

A popular TV series in the fifties ran the same episode at Christmastime each year.  The show had been cancelled and was off the air for a few years, but it was revived in the sixties with new episodes shot in color.  The lead actor returned, but the second lead was played by a different actor because the original second lead was a regular on another TV series at the time.  The traditional Christmas episode was re-shot in color, and some of the original actors from the 50's episode were brought back to reprise their roles in that episode.  Can you name the show?

Dragnet?

Yes. Dragnet had an episode that was repeated every year called "The Big Little Jesus".  It was about a statue of Jesus that was reported stolen from a local church.  In the fifties, Jack Webb's partner was played by Ben Alexander.  When the show was revived in 1967, Alexander was a regular on a show called "The Felony Squad", so Harry Morgan replaced him on "Dragnet".  Here is the original episode.

In the sixties edition, Jack Webb brought back several members of the original cast and filmed the story again.  Paul Bartell plays the priest in both episodes, which were made about fourteen years apart.  Here is a clever clip of the ending, with both episodes edited together.

Good work, Lavender.  You get to go next.
