Princess of Tap
Kid, if you insist - - I remember seeing the Ricardos in Cuba but I Love Lucy is so confused in my mind. Because I was watching the show in prime time and watching it in syndication at the same time. I think Desi Arnaz was the first person to actually have a show that was in Primetime and in syndication at the same time. He was truly amazing. In fact I think Desi created syndication. Next: Can you identify a TV character named Tagg?
MilesArcher
Tagg was Annie Oakley's little brother in the series that starred Gail Davis as Annie and Jimmy Hawkins as Tagg. The pilot film was made about 1952 with Billy Gray as Tagg, but the show wasn't sold for a few more years. By that time, Billy Gray was a bit old for the part and he had already committed to working on "Father Knows Best".
Princess of Tap
Miles-- I'm glad to see that you are also well versed on the distaff side of the western for the cowgirls. Gail Davis' Annie Oakley was very special to me. She was the only cowgirl we had, but she was as good as any man. She could really shoot; she really could do the fancy horse work and she really was quite beautiful. She was a protégé of Gene Autry. I read an interview her daughter gave a few years ago. Her daughter said that she still gets letters and communications from her mother's fans. I don't know which Cowboy you dressed up as, but all of us girls dressed up as Gail Davis in Annie Oakley. It never occurred to us that we didn't have as much choice as you boys, because we thought she was the Best Western show on TV, next to Roy Rogers and Dale Evans, of course. (And Lav, if you get a chance to read this, I had the Annie Oakley paper dolls too.LOL) Miles, thanks for the memories--your turn!

MilesArcher
Thanks. Gene Autry produced several TV series. There was an actress who appeared in an episode of one of them. At the time, she was a single mom with two children from a previous marriage. She fell in love with the star of the series and married him. Her daughter from that previous marriage became an actress, first on TV, and then in movies. The daughter is still active today. Can you name the actress, her daughter, the show that I referred to, and the star of that show?

MilesArcher
That's correct, Lavender. Margaret (Maggie) Field met Jock Mahoney when she appeared on an episode of "The Range Rider. He was then billed as Jack Mahoney, but his real name was Jacques O'Mahoney. They had a daughter together who became a second unit director. Her name is Princess O'Mahoney. Don't confuse her with our Princess on these boards. Here is Margaret Field Here are Maggie, Princess, Sally, and Jock. Lavender, you're up next.

DownGoesFrazier
open thread. These two famous rock bands appeared on the same bill at a concert. During the set of one band, a member of the other band came on stage, whirled like a dervish, and collapsed in a drug-induced stupor. Another member of his band had to replace his role during their set. The two bands? The guy who collapsed? The song the first band was playing while the guy whirled like a dervish? DownGoesFrazier
Well, who would be the most likely rock star to pass out on stage? It happened during the "psychedelic era" OK. At the festival at Isle of Wight, the Airplane was doing "Plastic Fantastic Lover", when Jim Morrison appeared on stage, spinning like a top, and finally collapsed. When the Doors went into their set, Ray Manzarek had to do the lead vocals. Open thread.
