bhryun
Hmm, let's see . . . a few of my favorite good-looking actors: Robert Taylor Cary Grant William Holden (from career start through about Sabrina . . . after that the alcohol started to show) Ronald Reagan (the 30s and 40s) Fred MacMurray (at very beginning of career, in 1935's Alice Adams he was incredibly debonair) Stewart Granger Richard Gere George Clooney (he looked like Gable in Brother, Where Art Thou?, only better!) And at the top of my list . . . Errol Flynn, Errol Flynn, Errol Flynn BLU
deeanddaisy666
Sterling Hayden was in something this morning, and danged if he wasn't hot. Made me wonder, would all the male and female stars we like/love so much be popular in films today? I know Sterling Hayden would, he's akin to Clint Eastwood I would imagine. But would Edward G. Robinson be relegated to character acting because he isn't pretty? Would Bette Davis have plastic surgery? Would Edna May Oliver? I fear my beloved Warren William wouldn't make it today either. vecchiolarry
Hi Everyone, Over dinner last night, a group of us began discussing Brad Pitt and his blond good looks. Someone made the comment that there weren't many blond hunks in the movies even in the old days. I, of course, brought up several. Here's my list off the top of my head: Sterling Hayden Guy Madison Alan Ladd Tab Hunter Richard Chamberlain James Franciscus James Dean (was he blond?) Marlon Brando (in "The Young Lions") Have I missed anyone? Can you think of any more? Help me out.. Larry BTW, I don't think much of Brad Pitt - in the looks dept. or the acting dept. Highly overrated crud!!!
bhryun
Did anyone mention John Payne, Dennis Morgan, George Montgomery, Louis Jourdan. All good looking leading men from the forties!
bhryun
Hi All, All of the 007 men where extremely handsome. Starting with Sean Connery, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton and so on. Each one a beauty in their youth and they stayed handsome until about fifty years of age. But then again, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Who every wants him, can have Brad Pitt.(extremely overrated looks and talent) I'll keep Paul Gross and Eric Thal for myself!
bhryun
Casper Van Dien, short but very handsome! With eyes you don't forget. BTW Guy Madison and James Dean where not blonds! Madison dark brown, Dean light brown.

bhryun
Oh yes...Where HAVE all the cowboys gone? And the dashing debonair detectives? And the swashbuckling heroes? Oh, Errol. Sigh. And I could listen to Ronald Colman's voice forever. Cary Grant,Gary Cooper,Gregory Peck, Newman-those eyes are still blue. Oh well, life goes on. It just doesn't do it in the movies the way it used to.
zooty127
Cary Grant - decades of hotness. Ronald Colman - that voice/those eyes. William Powell - not conventionally handsome, but his charm & finesse can't be denied. Dana Andrew - beautiful voice & nice eyes. Errol Flynn - **** I Tyrone Power - **** II Don Ameche - lovely eyes, voice & a wicked sense of humor. Gregory Peck - another swoon-worthy voice, eyes & always showed an intelligent sensitivity. Robert Mitchum - tough, tenacious & talented. He also had a nice voice & interesting eyes. Laurence Olivier - PRETTY eyes, lovely voice & memorable mannerisms, especially in PRIDE & PREJUDICE. Paul Nemwan - the best blues eyes in the business & just plain GORGEOUS.
bhryun
Definitely Marlon Brando - best looking man I've ever seen in any movies. bhryun
I love Cary Grant! You can look at my name on this thing and tell I am obsessed. He fits the description of tall, dark, and handsome better than anyone I have ever seen.

bhryun
George Raft coulda parked his shoes - - - - I think he was very handsome. I get so angry when I hear/read bad stuff about Raft, his acting, etc. There is a site on the internet that just rips him to shreads. I was so going to email the guy and give him a piece of my mind - until I remembered that I have similar feelings about some actors/actresses - that many people would get upset about. Of course, I would have the brains and the decency not to create horrible web-sites about them - hmmmm, maybe I will email this guy after all. lol Larry, as a beautician, I can tell you that James Dean, IMO WAS blonde. Ash blonde. Some people consider it light brown but it really is ash blonde. JMHO. I gotta say, too, errrrr - - - well - - - I think Brad Pitt is gorgeous. Too young for my heart to skip a beat as many young ladies do - but I do enjoy looking at him. He reminds me of a Greek statue. I like Brad, am not 'crazy' about him, but good looking, yes, IMO. And I do enjoy some of his movies. Legends of the Fall - of course, Anthony Hopkins was in that too. *grin* But the one remake that I did like - and I detest remakes - is Meet Joe Black - remade from Devil Takes a Holiday. I really enjoy that movie - hmmm, come to think of it Anthony Hopkins was in that one too. Go figure. lol
bhryun
ttoons, is Jeffrey Hunter the guy who played Jesus in hmmm, it was either Jesus of Nazareth of The Greatest Story Ever Told - I have them both, I'm just too lazy to go look. hehe I think it was the former. If it is - I find it very hard to watch him play Jesus. And yes, I am dead serious. Not because he was a bad actor, I think he did a great job - but because I feel weird watching a movie about Jesus while thinking how gorgeous the actor is at the same time. It just don't feel "right" somehow. But I DO agree with you - he was very handsome. Not "too" handsome, either - but too handsome to play Jesus. lol
normandie7
Robert Mitchum. Also Franchot Tone for his voice.
bhryun
Hi Scarlett, I agree with you! Jeffrey Hunter was too handsome to play Jesus. Poor Mary Magdeline! I remember reading that he was chosen apparently because his compassion, character and personality seemed to be perfect for the role. It wasn't so much his exceptional looks. ttoons
johnnyweekes70
reginnagiddons, if you don't mind me saying so, I would have never in a million years have suspected anyone of including Ivan Dixon in a list of handsome men. You're absolutely right, Ivan was a good-looking fellow, but that comes right out of left field. It exhibits personal and original taste. Hope you don't mind the observation.
