snowblanket
A long time ago I saw a comedy on TCM (at least I'm pretty sure it was TCM...) and I'm finally trying to figure out what it was called! I think the movie was made in the 30s-50s, but was set earlier (possibly in a fictional past.) In a small town in the country, the people don't drink alchohol, but accidentally "discover" it when they start eating a particular fruit they grow in their gardens or farms. I vaguely recall the term "happy juice" or "happy fruit" but can't seem to find anything with those keywords. It progresses as you would guess: everybody starts acting drunk, hilarity ensues. It's possible that the town had outlawed alcohol, but I'm not sure whether the movie was trying to teach a lesson about the evils of drink. Anybody have a clue?
