sfpcc2
I got cash. One years my friend gave me Reds. He has over a thousand DVD's so it's not wise to give him any movies.
Tikisoo
That's a great bunch of box sets you got there! My goal is to have fewer DVDs though. TCM occasionally broadcasts a film I've never seen (or heard of) that stars a fave of mine, and THAT'S a present in itself for me. December it was a Bob Hope film PRINCESS & THE PIRATE and January Eddie Cantor & Ethel Merman in STRIKE ME PINK. Yay!

EugeniaH
I lucked out this year. I've seen all of these before, but I wanted them for my DVD collection: It's Love I'm After Pat and Mike The Private Lives of Elizabeth and Essex The Heiress The Caine Mutiny The Incredible Shrinking Man "Cult Camp Classics" (includes Caged) *** Plus, I bought the following for myself : History is Made at Night Elmer Gantry Fireball: Carole Lombard and the Mystery of Flight 3 (book) Old Hollywood 2014 Calendar
Sepiatone
No movies, but my brother and sister in law gave me a DVD set of classic "Twilight Zone" episodes. And as mentioned in another thread, I bought a DVD copy of "A Christmas Carol" with Alistair Sim for myself. Sepiatone
StBartsActor
I only asked for one - - Fanny. Reason, in addition to really liking this film, I plan to have my second movie night with my 17 year old grand niece. Since the first film was Gigi, thought I'd stick with Leslie Caron plus hoping she will enjoy the romance. By the way, I did get a very unexpected gift (from family, no less) in Robert Osborne's new book on Oscar. It's a beautiful book and will make a great reference. Wayne
No DVDs, but close --- a CD. I got the complete original soundtrack score from *It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World* (1963). This 2-disc set features music cues not found on the 1963 LP version, which was actually a re-recording of the film's score by the Hollywood Studio Orchestra (which makes up disc 2 of this set). On disc 1 --- the music from the film's original 6-track composite soundtrack, as performed by the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra and conducted by composer Ernest Gold himself. Thank you, Ray Faiola!!

KidChaplin
I know this doesn't quite qualify, but I got money from my Grandmother and I have Chaplin firmly set in my sights. Namely "The Great Dictator!"
marylovesclassics
Sorta, Kinda, but not really I finally got the TCM coffee mug I've been asking for from my children. I like to buy my own classic movies as I just recently purchased: * Shane * Come Back Little Sheba To give credit to my kids, they would never be able to even take a guess for the exact movies I'd like and the list would be too long for them to choose from. I have over 200 classic films in my library now and counting.
