joefilmone
It's three hours of hooker and drugs- at one point I almost walked out but decided to stay to see if there was any point to this movie-but all I got was more hooker and drugs. It's hard to believe this is the same director who gave us " The Age of Innocence".
Hibi
LOL. Is this based on a true story like Catch Me If You Can?
joefilmone
Yeah a "true" story- they should have called it "National Lampoon's Wall Street"
Vertigo2
Well, Joel, the director of "Age of Innocence" also directed "Taxi Driver" "Casino" and "Goodfellas" which are closer to "Wolf" in tone. I thought "Wolf" was great, as was the direction and Scorsese was using excess to underscore a film ABOUT excess. As the film is based on the lead character's book of his experience as a shady Wall Street con man back in the time of it's story, it seemed to depict that time and place rather accurately. I think we were meant to be appalled not tittIlated, and clearly that was your reaction (except in your case by the movie more than the themes and situations - lol!) joefilmone
I might have a different reaction if I rewatch the film.
