mewdymew
I saw this as a child, I think it may have been an English movie. A newspaper cartoonist like dick tracy type, had a brother that killed people but it was a case of did fiction portray real life or did real life portray fiction. does anyone remember this type of movie? Kid Dabb
My first reaction is this film with Jack Lemmon: *How to Murder Your Wife (1965).* See if it's the one you're thinking of.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/How_to_Murder_Your_Wife https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vixJordE_vc
mewdymew
no it was not Jack Lemmon, It was a b/w movie the main character was more of a Michael Caine looking guy with thick rimmed glasses. everything bad thing that happened in the cartoon happened in real life too. but it was hard to figure which came first. Thank you for thinking on this.
ValentineXavier
You might be thinking of an ep of the 60s British TV show, The Avengers. There was one with that plot.
slaytonf
Was that one during the Tara King era?
ValentineXavier
Nope, Dianna Rigg, IIRC. Comic character was a big bird/man. Climbed up walls of buildings to kill people.
slaytonf
Ah, yes. But it wasn't a brother who was the comic artist, was it?

To tell you the truth, it's been so long since I saw it, I don't remember, but I think there was some relationship.
dixxieb
what film aired in January in the midnite timeslot that included a yacht (not integral to plot) - a color film. any help would be appreciated
DougieB
dixxieb- It was probably "Skidoo", the insane Otto Preminger movie with Carol Channing, Jackie Gleason, Goucho Marx and a slew of others. It was on in January at that hour as part of TCM Undergound, which features off-the-wall and cult films. It's sort of like "It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad World" and climaxes on a yacht. Now back to the regularly scheduled progamming....
dixxieb
Thanks, Doug, but that does not appear to be it (imdb on Skidoo says the yacht was Wild Goose (owner John Wayne) a Ballard yacht, but the yacht we saw in the unknown film appeared to be a Tromphy yacht, which is what we want to identify? Any other takers?
slaytonf
Part of The Twelve Chairs takes place on a river cruiser. Or maybe The Karate Killers?
