Im4movies2
I am surprised no one has yet created a bio pic about the great Jackie Gleason even though a remake of the Honeymooners was unsuccessful. I think John Goodman would be excellent for the role if they do.
sfpcc2
There was a TV movie biopic about Jackie Gleason made awhile ago. It starred Brad Garret, (Everybody Loves Raymond, Till Death.) The problem is that MR Garret is 6'8. I'm not exactly sure how they dealt with the height issue.
Dargo2
Yeah, I saw that one, sfp. It's wasn't bad, and I thought Garret did a reasonably decent job in channeling The Great One. Oh, and as I recall, to get around that whole "height issue" with Brad, all the supporting players and extras had been cast from the ranks of the NBA and the WNBA. In FACT, word is the actress who played Audrey Meadows could come THIS close to dunkin' the ball in those pickup games they'd run after each day's shoot. (...betcha saw that one comin', didn't ya ...but yeah, honestly, I DID see it, and Brad wasn't half brad..err..bad)
Sepiatone
Goodman seems to be the "go to" guy when they need a large-sized actor for something. It's what ruined "The Babe". Goodman, while an excellent actor, wasn't a good fit for Ruth, and I don't think for Gleason either. Kevin James, with some good make-up work, might be able to pull it off.
