edgedrv
This boyish actor had long been off the screen and probably is mostly forgotten. He came to films doing extra work starting at the age of 13. He had an uncredited role in the Norma Shearer film ROMEO AND JULIET, something I was not aware of. Usually cast as the shy/sensitive type, McCallister appeared in more than 40 films most notably THE RED HOUSE (a favorite of mine) and STAGE DOOR CANTEEN. The actor left the screen at the age of 30 in 1953 and then moved on to a successful career in real estate. McCallister was 82.
