roverrocks
Looking forward to viewing AUTUMN SONATA this morning. Haven't seen this wonderful movie in many many years that I can recall. Bergman and Ullmann directed by the great Ingmar Bergman. Doesn't get much better than that. One fine movie. If you haven't seen it then realize it's not to be missed. roverrocks
I had forgotten just how intense and emotional this fine Swedish film was. A vivid movie of intense acting especially by Ullmann and also by Lena Nyman as the daughters of Ingrid Bergman. A movie of the fine line between love and hate/bitterness. jakeem
What really hits home is the thought that this was Ingrid Bergman's last feature film. She received her seventh and final Academy Award nomination for her performance. She died of cancer on her 67th birthday (August 29, 1982) -- four years after the film's release. skimpole
I haven't seen Coming Home (and for that time Same Time, Next Year, the other best actress nominee I haven't seen). In its absence I'm inclined to say that Liv Ullmann was the best actress of 1978.
