thanks Fred for the links/translations of the J'Accuse article by Zola. your postings on this and other topics set the record straight.

 

in particular, the footnotes to the third link fill in many holes that the movie The Life of Emile Zola raises. the footnotes themselves beg for more information; for example, the suspicious nature/accusations surrounding Zola's death by carbon monoxide poisoning and the shooting wound in his arm suffered by Dreyfus at a tribute ceremony to Zola in the early 1900's.
