Joy7000
There is a quote Ginger Roger says in 42nd Street that I do not fully understand. I am hoping the movie experts here can help explain what this really means: "It must have been tough on your mother not having any children." The context of this is that Ginger says this to another chorus girl who just insulted her. Is the intention of the quote that the other chorus girl is illegitimate? Sorry if I am missing something really obvious here! Thanks.
slaytonf
What Anytime Annie is implying is the woman is of so little importance that her mother can be considered as not having any children.
Joy7000
Ah! That had crossed my mind as a possibility, as well. Thanks for the clarification.
