trishsugar
I actually saw the movie, "Heaven Knows, Mr. Allison" in the movie theatre back in 1957. I wanted to view it again, it's such an excellent film; so this weekend I saw it again. What happened to the ending? Am I so old that I fantasized the ending?? But, no, other movie fans have mentioned that the movie on the CD is DIFFERENT. After World War II is over, Mr. Allison goes looking for Sister Angela. He and a buddy are walking up to the abbey/convent where she is supposed to be. Two nuns pass them walking the other way. The other sister notices Sister Angela's shock as she walks by Mr. Allison. "What is it, Sister?" she says. And because Mr. Allison didn't recognize her, she says something like, "I thought I saw someone I knew. But, we look all the same to the secular world...." This was such a poignant, strong ending.....I wonder why someone changed the it????
