slaytonf
A slight and simple Cinderella tale, with a little of the hooker-with-a-heart-of-gold mixed in. It's Anouk Aimee that brings it to life. There is a parallel story of a callow youth who yearns to escape his narrow world. But it can be overlooked without any trouble. It has a storybook ending. But what's the matter with that, every once in a while?

But what's the matter with that, every once in a while? Did you notice that the "callow youth" was Roland Cassard (played by Marc Michel), who marries Catherine Deneuve's character in "The Umbrellas of Cherbourg"?
