bhryun
Has anyone else experienced a problem with the sound being one second behind the picture for the last few days on TCM? Cable company is RCN Allentown, PA but they say there isn't a proble from their end. It's only the one channel- my favorite one!
movieslover1000
I've been having problems with TCM. Yesterday during the last Thin Man movie, the picture keep freezing up, and the audio would lag. I have no idea if this is a TCM problem or a cable company problem. The only answer I ever get from the cable company is they don't know nothing. Of course, the response is send a service tech out to annouce that there is nothing wrong/can do.
bhryun
Yes, sound is out of sync for 3 days now. Yes RCN in Northampton says they will investigate as long as I commit to being home for a service call. If I don't make a scheduled service call they can't file a report of problem. BUT When I said there was a problem with channel 81, they asked me if it was out of sync sound, so they have been notified about it. Typical RCN baloney. If they do fix the problem, then I have to call them to cancel the appt or they will bill me. Just another example of their misunderstanding of customer service. What else is new. sweetbabykmd
My TCM was off all weekend, but I had no picture, just sound. I am in California and have satellite FYI.
brackenhe
Really, the only movie I noticed it the most on was Europa '51 but I figured it was just badly dubbed, since most of the actors were Italian.
bhryun
Hi again, Thanks for the responses. Maybe it is a local repeating the signal problem in this area. I contacted TCM who were kind enough to offer to call RCN and look into it though they also said they are investigating a possible software problem at TCM. I'm really hoping it gets worked out by tonight for the Harryhausen fest. Some rare stuff- I was hoping to preserve for my kids to watch over again. Keep your fingers crossed! bhryun
There is definitely a sound problem on TCM. The sychronization of the voices is completely off. All of my other cable stations are fine. Last night, I could hardly watch a TCM movie - the lips and voices were off by a considerable amount so that when they showed an actress mouthing words, the words the viewer hears were of the male actor. It was really annoying and I hope it gets corrected soon.
fssbdgtsue59
I have taken my local cable company to task for errors occurring on TCM, but they contend they are receiving the same input as I am and that the trouble is with the TCM network. Now how you get ahold of the TCM network is beyond me but If I could I'd have some words for them to chew on. Nuff said. Sue
brackenhe
I watch all the time and I haven't noticed it except the bad dubbing on the Ingrid Bergman movie I mentioned below. I have digital cable with Comcast although I don't know if that has anything to do with it.
