Azure, your photo reminded me of the Barkleys of Broadway - -

 

The only time you ever see Lena Horne's husband in a movie is the Barkleys of Broadway. Because he was the premiere musical conductor at MGM, he's seen conducting the orchestra for Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. Can somebody name him?

 

Since this is supposed to be easy - - his name is probably even in the credits.

Yes, Lennie was Lena Horne's husband and MGM's top conductor and arranger. Lennie was responsible for one of their greatest films, Gene Kelly's

singing in the rain.

 

Gene Kelly and Lennie were able to work one last time on Barbra Streisand's Hello Dolly in 1969.
