laffite
I answered Clark Gable below and was waiting for confirmation. Then the thread was just taken over. It's okay, no biggie...but let's know whether we are following the general rules...or no. Shall we make it okay just to throw up a question whenever we want? This is an EASY thread so maybe it would work? Finance, go ahead, you're up...

LuckyDan
this actor worked as a lifeguard and a radio announcer before getting into the movies. in a pair of films directed by a future tv talk show director, he acted with a chimp. he would meet his future wife when they costarred in a naval drama. later he would leave film acting to become a spokesman for general electric. then he did other stuff that made him world famous. Kid Dabb
so wazzzat Ronnie Reagan?? It is Ronald Reagan (but I'm not allowed to say so and you're not allowed to accept my confirmation or have the next turn until LuckyDan also says it's Ronald Reagan and says it's your thread, or your turn, or you're next, or yours, or..) Kid Dabb
LuckyDan is in self-imposed exile. I wonder if he knows about the loose stone in the wall leading to the next cell?

Well, those ARE the rules. T'would have been better not have said anything at all, I know that now...besides the answer I gave that was misunderstood did not have the appearance of a conventional answer, I added some of my usual dribble which may have resulted in misunderstanding. I don't know whether or not to take seriously LuckyDan's "self-imposed" exile, but if it is so, I would beseech LD to cease that nonsense and return to us post haste. If the exile thing was in jest, then all the better. In either case. hope to see LuckyDan here ASAP.
Kid Dabb
Well.. it has been 3 days. I reckon we should move on without LuckyDan - I'm sure he would want it that way. LD's taking one for the team
laffite
Let me do one to keep it going, please... dedicated to the one in exile... Name an actor who played the sleazy one in a pair of nifty noirs from the 40s... In each film, he had a 'partner in crime' played by the same woman, and who both preyed upon a victim who was played by the same actor in each film. If you know the films, you know the actors (It shouldn't take lang [sic] to get this one).
starliteyes
Would that actor be Dan Duryea?

starliteyes
This actress was slated to play the lead in a film but, unfortunately, died. A couple of years later the film was made with another actress and it evolved into a popular series. Can you name the original actress, the actress who replaced her and the film?
