28Silent Posted May 7, 2014 Share Posted May 7, 2014 New Orleans has been a national tourist place for the united states and the whole world .What new orleans is famouse for ,in the past, was it's movie houses.Only one survivng Neighborhood theater still exist ,up their .The prytania theater.It's run or it was run by Rene Brunette and his Family,He;s elderly.Back in 20012 was 91.So I don't know if he still alive.He . aided by A Jack Stewart ,have published a coffee table style book about the history of the movie palaces in New Orleans,There's one on your nieghborhood ,the lost theater's of New Orleans .It's a 160 pages coffess table book of the historyof the 100 theaters that had exist in the past.It's only sold on the internet .The main web for the book inlcuded two preview pages.It's pretty good .This book was written and created by Rene Brunet j.r and Jack Stewart.So if you have a interest in the history of movie palaces this book is for you Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It's good to know that some are being refurbished and used for live entertainment or other purposes, but so many have been victim of the wrecking ball.
