Kid Dabb
Shazzzaammm! Next: name this movie If I were a blonde bombshell, with a beautiful body, wearing a snow-white dress, standing over a subway grate so a rush of air could blow the dress up around my face.. I wonder what 1955 Billy Wilder romantic comedy film based on a George Axelrod play I could star in.. hmmm? I wonder.. it might could take me 6 or 7 years to figure this one out. Could someone help me with the title of this film..
GIPPER
hummmmmmmm I'd say....."THE SEVEN YEAR ITCH" with Marilyn Monroe.
laffite
I was going to ask for another clue but I found my crystal ball in the closet and was able to come up with a movie about a guy who tried to woo this bombshell in a snow-white dress (what a coincidence). He was a baseball player but couldn't get to first base with her because for seven years she kept saying no, the movie was called THE SEVEN YEAR PITCH. She turned him down because he kept playing Rachmaninov's Second Piano Concerto and she hated that one. The title of that movie rhymes with another one called THE SEVEN YEAR ITCH and I know I'm being absolutely silly, but I'll go with that one. Yes, I know, farfetched...but I like rhymes. Just in the small event that I may possibly be right I'll give out another tough one. Name the movie that takes place during the Civil War, about a southern belle with an attitude, who has something to do with a Butler, or something like that and who, when she becomes philisophical ruminates about "tomorrow." I know these clues are really obscure but I'm known for being a tough S O B when it comes to questions. EDIT: Oh look, someone's as smart as I am. Yours, Gipper.... GIPPER
Our story takes place in a small town, when one day our handsome young man and the town's best known citizen is involved in train accident. His legs are amputated for no reason. When he wakes up and discovers what has happened, he utters the line "Where's the rest of me"?
laffite
Hello, Gipper Confession...I didn't know the answer to this. I had to google the famous line you quoted. So even these easy threads are a trial for challenged Laffite, ha. I should say though that I am not a fan of the star of the movie. I am smart enough, however, to see the relationship between the star of this film and your screen name. You obviously are a fan. And so, since I cheated, I will defer to the next person, who I am sure will toss off the correct answer with all the aplomb that Laffite lacks. Carry on... Kid Dabb
Ok. I guess I'll do the honors. This is one of my favorite films and where else are you going to see the (usually) enjoyable and appealing Charles Coburn as "the baddie". This is Kings Row (1942) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Next: In this comedy / gangster film, recently released convicts buy out a luggage store looking to rob the bank next door. Comedy ensues and everybody wins out in the end. Can you name this film..
GIPPER
Well, let me consult my trusty movie guide.... The movie in question would be "LARCENY INC", starring Edward G. Robinson and the then Mrs Ronald Reagan...aka Jane Wyman. Next: This epic takes place during a dispute in the U.S.

GIPPER
Dan, I was actually thinking of "GONE WITH THE WIND" (1939) starring Clark Gable, Vivien Leigh, Olivia deHavilland and Leslie Howard., your answer could work too.

Kid Dabb
True Grit (1969) - Brilliant! -------------------------------------------------------------- Next: A young man leaves the farm to become the best there ever was at baseball. Some dame shoots him and throws herself out the window to her death. He doesn't make it to baseball for about another 16 years (at the ripe old age of 35), where he and his "Wonder Boy" lightning bolt bat take a last place team to the Pennant. Can you name this Robert Redford film? (Hint: This film was not shot in Czechoslovakia)
