Arsan404
Correct. Greta Garbo won the NYFCC Award in 1935 for Anna Karenina but was not even nominated for an Academy Award. Your thread, Azure.
Azure
Correct. Greta Garbo won the NYFCC Award in 1935 for Anna Karenina but was not even nominated for an Academy Award. Your thread, Azure. Thanks, Arsan. It's sad that she was never nominated for that role. What were those guys thinking? She was great as Anna Karenina. Oh, well...... Next: In the movie Home Alone, Kevin McCallister (Macaulay Culkin) watches an old movie that is a spoof of a famous gangster film. What is the name of the movie that was being spoofed? (Bonus points for giving the name of the "spoof" film in Home Alone.) A.) Angels with Dirty Faces B.) The Angels Wash Their Faces C.) The Trouble with Angels D.) We're No Angels
starliteyes
I never saw Home Alone, but I'd be very surprised if the answer wasn't Angels With Dirty Faces.
Azure
That's correct! The name of the "spoof' film is Angels with Filthy Souls. In Home Alone 2, the "spoof" sequel is called Angels with Even Filthier Souls. Your turn, Starlit.

Arsan404
This movie is a curse, This 1930's romantic drama has been remade twice. All of the leads were or have been nominated for Oscars for acting several times, but none of them won or has won, so far, in competition. Three of them won Honorary Oscars; another one won for Directing. Name the movie, its remakes and the leads.
starliteyes
I'm guessing that it's Love Affair (1939), starring Charles Boyer and Irene Dunne. It was remade in 1957 as An Affair to Remember with Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr and then again in 1994, once again titled Love Affair and starring Warren Beatty and Annette Bening. Charles Boyer, Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr all were recipients of honorary Oscars and Warren Beatty won a Best Director Oscar for Reds.
