9) While filming The Dirty Dozen, director Robert Aldrich would often improvise scenes and would ask volunteers from the cast for a certain stunt or scene, Cassavetes would always be the first to volunteer, so he has many scene stealing moments in the film.

10 - A cenotaph was placed for him at his wife's crypt in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, she died 3 months after him.  A cenotaph is an empty tomb or a monument erected in honour  of a deceased.
