During the filming of The Manchurian Candidate, she was served divorce papers by Tony Curtis (the symbolic end of a real-life relationship).  Later the same day, she filmed the famous scene where her character meets Frank Sinatra's on a train--the symbolic beginning of a fictional onscreen relationship. The scene is noticeable for its elliptical and absurdist dialogue (full of mysterious non sequiturs), but also for the striking vulnerability and openness between two characters who barely know each other.

3. At the beginning of his career, Chandler nearly lost an eye in a serious car accident on his way to a screen test, and maintained a large scar on his forehead.  He was good friends with Sammy Davis Jr., and years later offered to donate one of his own eyes when Davis's accident left him in similar danger of losing his eyesight.
