Very good, bayarea4! You are correct!

Twentieth Century-Fox (to use its old corporate title) was formed by the merger of Darryl Zanuck's 20th Century Pictures, Inc. and William Fox's Fox Film Corporation in 1935. But most writers, and even some of Fox's own publicists, would fail to use the hyphen in the name of the studio in their stories and reviews. So, bowing to this popular omission, Fox officially dropped the hyphen from its corporate name in 1985.
