James Dean on TCM

EAST OF EDEN with Julie Harris

REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE with Natalie Wood

I like the photo you chose of Dean, TopBilled. It could actually have been from any of his films! 😄

You're right, it could. Which may suggest he was playing the same types of roles in those films.

LAURA with Dana Andrews

THE GHOST AND MRS. MUIR with Rex Harrison

Great films, both of them.

Especially LAURA, with a great performance from the underrated Dana Andrews.

Bette times two on TCM

A STOLEN LIFE with Glenn Ford

DEAD RINGER with Karl Malden

Triple dose of Bette in two different films! Love it.

Though I think I like A STOLEN LIFE a bit more, DEAD RINGER does offer up an interesting twist at the end.

I feel she works better with Karl Malden than she does with Glenn Ford. How about you?

Yes, I have to admit she did have better chemistry with Malden, but I still enjoyed Glenn Ford, even if I thought he was a jackass for treating the good Bette sister in A STOLEN LIFE the way he did.

Noir featuring Kirk Douglas

THE STRANGE LOVE OF MARTHA IVERS with Barbara Stanwyck

OUT OF THE PAST with Robert Mitchum

Awesome pair of flicks. Especially looking forward to OUT OF THE PAST.

Kirk and Robert Mitchum worked so well together. Throw in Jane Greer and you have a dynamite star combination resulting in a great film.

Being a cattle person and a Veterinary graduate, Mr Mankieweiz needs to pronounce the cattle breed in Rare Breed as Hereford (Her- ford) its a British breed and the 2nd E isnt pronounced.

Candice,

I did not see his wraparound comments last night. How did he pronounce it-- like here + ford ?

Disaster at sea on TCM

THE POSEIDON ADVENTURE with Gene Hackman

THE LAST VOYAGE with Robert Stack

A NIGHT TO REMEMBER with Kenneth More

I love THE POSEIDON ADVENTURE.

I think the sequel BEYOND THE POSEIDON ADVENTURE is on a couple hours earlier. I will definitely skip that one.

Yes, the sequel was, by most accounts, a dud.
