 "The very first time
I saw your face...
I thought of a story
And rushed to reach the end too soon" - The Cure

Though the 1943 movie adaptation's cast/crew convincingly conveyed the plain Jane (Eyre) beauty of the title character, the ending seemed rushed, as if its creators had read a Reader's Digest Condensed Books version of the Charlotte Bronte tale.

Yeah, I think the 1943 version is flawed. I prefer the 1996 adaptation with William Hurt, Charlotte Gainsbourg and Joan Plowright...directed by Franco Zefferelli.

Great classics.
