TopBilled
Supposedly BLACK FRIDAY (1940)-- which is coming up this weekend with Svengoolie-- hasn't been shown on television since 1983. That's what I read-- seems kind of hard to believe. But I guess if it didn't get aired on the old AMC, and it was never seen on public broadcasting stations, it's possible. Thanks guys-- I just went back and re-read what I had found-- I guess it is the first time since 1983 that Svengoolie has shown it. So at least we know some of his repeats have long gaps in between. By the way, Rich Koz has been doing this since 1979-- but back in the 80s he was called Son of Svengoolie.

I've seen BLACK FRIDAY on tv a few times. I like Rich Koz, he's a cute guy, funny and silly. However they repeat the films VERY often. I've been watching Svengolie every now and then since ME-TV showed up, and many of the films have been repeated many times and imo there have not been long gaps between showings of most of the films. mrroberts
Now BLACK SUNDAY, THE MASK OF SATAN (Mario Bava) is a film to see, but I sincerely doubt that ME TV and Svengoolie will ever access that one. In fact TCM is probably the only channel that will ever broadcast a film like that.

lavenderblue19
I emailed ME-TV and called COMCAST- last night my beloved ROUTE 66 and THE NAKED CITY were bumped and 2 moronic Informercials were shown in their place. So watch out guys and keep your fingers crossed that ME-TV does NOT go that route into the dreaded Informercial land I received 2 emails from the Program Coordinator who works locally for Me-Tv. she wrote that those Informercials will be shown for a week, last THURS (when I first noticed those informercials) to the following (this)Thurs in a 2 hour slot. Route 66 and The Naked City were bumped for those moronic Informercials. Tonight IRONSIDE( don't care about that show)and Rte 66 ( I do love) were bumped. The Naked City was back on. Hopefully, this will not become a regular interruption, but I think there's a good chance this will happen every so often. ( I already have a NUTRABULLET) LOL, an hour informercial for one of those and an hour of an Informercial for leaf blowers, were shown. I'm impressed that she wrote back so quickly to answer my email, but beware, many may find that their local stations may go the route of Informercials shown every so often on ME-TV and some of their favorites may also be bumped. I just checked my cell, there are 2 missed calls. They are from Bellingham Washington but no message. I looked up the numbers on the internet, one of them is listed as KVOS, ME-TV MOVIES. I had also emailed MOVIES to ask how my area could get MOVIES. Didn't know that the MOVIES station was part of ME-TV. I'm very impressed that ME-TV answers viewers and so quickly. I'm going to return the phone call and report back.

It sounds like it is your local affiliate/station that is pre-empting Me-TV's regular programming, so they can make money on those infomercials. However, other affiliate stations around the country that air Me-TV may follow suit. Hope not. Hope not. Yes, I'll report back with any other info I find out Well, many of them probably do that. The question is how often. If it's just an hour or two per week that's one thing, but if it happens five to seven days a week, that's worth complaining about. What I am not sure about and you may want to ask is if these stations are not owned by Weigel, it may be that their license agreements allow them a few hours each week for their own programming (such as public service programs or infomercials). Don't think I made this clear enough. 2 different situations. I've already received emails from the local affliiate about the 2 hr long commercials that were and will be aired all week (Thurs thru this Thurs). I've already responded to the local program director's emails thanking her. That's the extent of my conversations with her. If you want to know about Weigel, you can email ME-TV thru their website as I did, and you may get an answer to your question. The phone calls I received are in response to the other request I sent to MOVIES. I did that thru their website. I will be asking them about how my area can receive the MOVIES channel. lavenderblue19
Well, I'M still P*****ED at them for dropping COMBAT. Sepiatone Go to the ME-TV website, you can email your complaint. You may get a response and they may tell you when it will be back on. Last year they removed a show I was enjoying. They answered my complaint, telling me that they rotate the schedule every 6 months or so, and that the show I was interested in will be back on. Sure enough it did show up 6 months later. Can't lose anything by letting them know how you feel.

lavenderblue19
That's unfortunate. All I can say is the Program Director in SE Fla. emailed me. COMBAT will probably show up again in a few months, I hope so.
Dargo
Well, I'M still P*****ED at them for dropping COMBAT. Sepiatone Oh, c'mon now Sepia! How many times CAN you watch those firefights where the German soldiers are perfectly entrenched behind some fortified barricade, but for SOME dumb reason while engaged with Sergeant Sanders' platoon, they'd stand up and pop out of them ONLY to be gunned down by Sanders and his men??? (...or as my Pop used to tell me when we'd watch that show together back when I was a kid, "Trust me son, the Germans were never THAT stupid!", and he should know...he was there!)
