TCM and Other Sources for Classic Film

I love this topic, but I wish you would go back to the other format.  Thanks.

I appreciate the feedback. There were several reasons I switched to this format. As I stated previously, I wanted to be more thematic/creative. Also, the other posts were very time consuming. I wish I could have continued doing it that way, but it was too much to do each day. LOL.

I think she might have been referring to the fact that a lot of don't get these other channels you mention like Amazon Prime, hula etc.

For those of us in Canada, we get Silver Screen Classics.  But if I did a thread on that and didn't mention it was for Canadian viewers only, Americans might look at the thread and not know it could not help them.

Just my thought on what Miss Watusi meant.

Jerry Lewis' 90th birthday on TCM

THE BELLBOY with Milton Berle

THE KING OF COMEDY with Robert De Niro

SMORGASBORD with Herb Edelman

WHICH WAY TO THE FRONT? with Jan Murray

THREE ON A COUCH with Janet Leigh

I really am so anticipating seeing "The Bellboy" again and of course Jerry is almost like Buddy Love reincarnated in "The King of Comedy".

Thanks as usual for all the work you do keeping me and others informed, TB!

I simply can't imagine why you don't want to spend three or more hours daily researching and posting bits for us on TCM's board, TB!

Actually I can imagine, since just writing the drivel I post right off the top of my head, sometimes takes me three hours daily that I can never get back.

Geez! Movie stuff can be taxing and time consuming and I'm not even in the industry.

That's an interesting comment. I thought Canadians could get Hulu and Amazon Prime. Not so?

It may be available in other provinces, I don't know.

In fact, I have never even heard of Hulu.

Are these TV channels, or websites?

I just cannot get them in British Columbia.

I am not sure where this other poster lives.

These are online streaming sources. But you can watch them on your TV, if your television has an internet connection. Hulu's been around for quite awhile. I didn't start watching it till last year. I'm fairly certain Canadians can get Hulu and Amazon Prime if they have internet access.

THE MIRACLE OF THE BELLS with Fred MacMurray

Is this Miracle of the Bells with Frank Sinatra?  When is it airing?  I hope I have access to it.

I was so happy when I first saw I Confess to learn that Maldon had been in a Hitchcock movie.

It's not that I did not LOVE the fact that Clift worked with Hitchcock, but I knew that Clift was the star of the movie.  It  was not until after the film started and I realized that Karl was in it that I knew he and Hitch had ever worked together.

I always thought that these two would make a great film together.

I much prefer I CONFESS to some of Hitchcock's other more heralded films from the 50s. It works for me, because Hitchcock himself was a Catholic and I think he makes this story a little more spiritual, more personal. Also, we have Anne Baxter and Brian Aherne adding unique textures with their performances. It's a wonderful film.

I'm a big fan of Steve McQuuen, King of Cool.

Baby the Rain Must fall is airing in Canada and it is brand new to me.  I'm recording it.
