The Somerset Maugham film is masterful and the play transposed to film, by Anton Chekov, stars besides Olivier, Alan Bates and Derek Jacobi, plus Larry's wife, Joan Plowright. She was so great in that TZ episode with Charles Bronson early in her career. I just read last night that she was distantly related to Lizzie Borden. To be honest, I had never heard of the actress until I watched her in the Farley Granger movie. Incidentally, THE RED HEADED CORPSE combines plots from several well-known film noir. It's interesting that Miranda is third- or fourth-billed (after Jane Powell and Ann Sothern) but she seems to be the focus of the advertising and promotional materials.
