TCM and Other Sources for Classic Film

"O. Henry's Full House" was Farley Granger's last Hollywood film.

Yes, he turned to stage, television and foreign film productions. There are some episodes of him on YouTube when he made appearances on Edge of Night in 1979. It was an interesting storyline, but he played kind of a pathetic character and it just seemed so beneath his talents. I guess he had an electric bill to pay.

Who could forget John Williams in "Back for Christmas" with Isobel Elsom?

I loved John Williams in "Dial M For Murder", too.

He originated the role in the famed Broadway production.

Yes, he worked with Hitch several times. The three episodes of the TV series I highlighted are rare examples where Hitch not only hosted but also directed (between movies). He kept casting John Williams for a reason, leading me to believe Wiliams was a personal favorite of his.

Every now and then, I'll watch an episode of "The Alfred Hitchcock Hour" and be totally "knocked out" - just recently, Gloria Swanson, James MacArthur and Lynn Loring in a dark, dark tale and Vera Miles and Jeffrey Hunter in another dark, dark tale.

Only the first four seasons of Alfred Hitchcock Presents is on Hulu. I think my favorite is the one called "Toby" where Jessica Tandy keeps talking about a baby in the other room, and it is suggested the baby (we don't see it until the very end) is dead. Like you really use your imagination with that story, and Tandy is superb. The ending is a total surprise.

Terrific actor, very persuasive, his last film was "Twilight Of Honor" with Richard Chamberlain.

Read about Stolen Holiday and it sounds interesting.   I typically enjoy Kay in light hearted comedies \ romantic films so I would love to see her in this drama, especially since her co-star is the fantastic Rains.    I assume she holds her own.

BUT tonight is jazz jam night so I'm leaving.    Since the film is a WB production,  I'm hoping TCM will show it again.
