A FINE PAIR...why shown in full screen?

A rarely screened film, showcasing Claudia Cardinale at her loviest, finally showed-up on TCM...

...and they decided to show a full screen presentation of this Panavision-shot film.  And the overall picture quality was pretty bad, too, very faded and reddish-tinged.

TCM usually gets primo copies of all Warner Brothers films.  Very disappoining they couldn't unearth a better quality copy of this one.

Maybe TCM acquired a television print of the movie and that's why it's in 'full screen'?  Even though I don't believe 'A FINE PAIR' was ever released on VHS, the picture quality looked just like some of those 30+ -year-old VHS tapes I have where the video releasing company made a straight transfer from an old film print and that was that.  Some are 'grainier' than others.

Thanks Fred for the link to that version on youtube...

Interesting-- besides being better formatted, it's 18 minutes (!) longer than the U.S. print.   Sounds like Claudia did her own Italian dub, but the Italian guy's voice for Hudson is really off-putting.
