JamesJazGuitar
Nice listing of films (35!) with a theme for most of the days (e.g. October 1st = late 40's films, October 29th = noir expect for Pyscho etc..). I wonder if the number of films is some type of record for SOTM.

mr6666
Janet Leigh (meh!) best October SOTMs have been Boris Karloff ('03), Peter Lorre ('04) & Vincent Price ('13) but then you can see where MY head is at
Kay
Well, if they tried to do a Halloween themed SOTM every October they would run out of options pretty quick. I'm one of those who was hoping beyond hope for Lon Chaney, but I can't say I'm surprised. Unfortunately I didn't get to see the Peter Lorre and Boris Karloff months, but Vincent Price was great. (but the film choices could have been better) I've often thought that TCM should announce the SOTM choice before the films chosen. That way we could shout suggestions into the black hole for a while. (as if they'd ever get picked up.) (Edit: P.S. I was kind of expecting Christopher Lee to be chosen, actually. Just to celebrate him still being alive and whatnot, you know?)
jakeem
What? No "Prince Valiant"? Leigh was so exquisite as Princess Aleta in this 1954 film that I've begun to wonder if she looked that good in real life!

TCM aired 63 Joan Crawford-related films in January when she was Star of the Month, and 58 productions for John Wayne over a five-day period in April. twtpark
Janet Leigh as STOM is OK. I wish Terry Moore would be a future SOTM.She was a gifted child actress who grew up to be an Oscar nominated super star in dramas and musicals and westerns. I was hoping for Bela Lugosi but knew without TCM showing any Universal films that would be impossible.

jakeem
Was there ever a film in which the lead actor's character was a barber? The one that immediately comes to mind is Billy Bob Thornton's character in "The Man Who Wasn't There," a 2001 Coen Brothers film featuring a very young Scarlett Johannson. Then there's Johnny Depp in "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street" (2007). And the "Barbershop" movies starring Ice Cube and Cedric the Entertainer.
