bhryun
Hello...when i was a kid i watched a movie that left a haunting memory on me ever since. I only remember bits and pieces. I believe it was made in the 40"s or so. A beautiful woman, has three gentleman in love with her. Later in the movie she marries one of them. He must have been a sailor. THey lived near the ocean and a lighthouse. He left to go to sea..and never came back. What i remember is her painful watch for him...everyday she walks to the shore with it's torrent waters to look for him. I do remember one of the charactors, the older woman who was the old spinster that was jilted on her wedding day in the old classic Great Expectations. That is about all i remmeber, it was a hauntingly beautiful story. Does the ring a bell w/anyone? For some reason I am thinking the actress could have been Merle Oberion or Barbara Stanwick? Thanks a bunch to anyone who can shed some light on this?
bggalaxy
This does not answer your question, but it did remind me of a film you would enjoy: Rebecca (1940) with Laurence Olivier, Joan Fontaine, George Sanders, and Judith Anderson as the Mrs. Denvers, the housekeeper, who begins driving the young wife (Joan Fontaine) to madness. lux0786
It's Lydia (1941) with Merle Oberon, Joseph Cotton, Edna May Oliver, and others. It's a lovely movie. You are incorrect on one of your facts but I won't say anything about it. This movie doesn't need a spoiler, it just needs to be seen.
