Overlord (1975)

Did anyone happen to see this late last night?  I'd never seen it nor heard of it (apparently there was almost no U.S. release), nor the American director, Stuart Cooper.

 

It told the story of a young British soldier and his experiences leading up to D-Day.  It was shot in black and white with some old footage of the London Blitz.  I found it deeply moving.  The final scenes were devastating (and beautiful) and the movie has stayed with me all day.  I hope it will be shown more often, or at least on the anniversary of D-Day.
