JANIS WILSON

The dark-haired, and so dramatically talented Janis Wilson, who only made about 6 films was last seen on the screen in 1948.

Onscreen from 1942 in "Now, Voyager" as Paul Henreid's disturbed daughter, was befriended onscreen and off by Bette Davis, who asked for her to play her daughter in "Watch on the Rhine".

Miss Wilson also was in two Barbara Stanwyck films, "The Strange Love of Martha Ivers" (Stanwyck as a youngster) and in "My Reputation".

She settled in Grand Rapids, Michigan where she became a housewife with fond memories of Hollywood.

Now in her 70's, she made some appearances years ago on local television discussing her films and friendship with Miss Davis.

One of my favorite scenes in all filmdom is when Paul Henreid embraces Janis Wilson and, in answer to her question about her new appearance--"Do you really like me?"--answers "I love you," looking straight into Bette Davis' eyes as he says it.

I thought Janis Wilson did a very convincing job of playing a depressed child in the movie.
